Thrashador Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Climb: South Sister Slogalicious- Date of Climb: 5/31/2004 Trip Report: We left Willamette Valley iffy weather behind Sunday night... ...and headed for Bend and sunnier climes. A Hot Wheels sticker was our lucky charm: Started skinning around 5:30am and found fine views soonafter: Snowmachiners who cross wilderness boundaries ought to be publicly pissed on. Despite the firm snow the skinning was mostly good: Hmmm, I could be pond skimming at Batchy right about now. The top consisted of classic Cascade chicken head rime but quickly changed to something more skiable: Beers and some chilly water capped off a memorable Memorial day: Gear Notes: Forgot my shades in the car. Approach Notes: There's still enough snow to ski to the highway. Ran into Lane & Agatha! Quote

newfydog Posted June 3, 2004 Posted June 3, 2004 Just got down from our own slog. On top by 9:00 and found it pretty mushy...did mashed potato eights and started a few surface sloughs. Great day all in all and could still ski car door to car door. We need some cooler nights, Quote
