Ducknut Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Planning a little weekend activity and wondering how soft the snow is up from Pole Creek. Who's got the Beta? Posthole hell? Quote
jlag Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 The temps haven't been that bad, if you go in early you won't posthole. I'm assuming that your not skinning/snowshoeing due to the postholing comment. Snow is patchy until Soap Creek junction. AFter that it's a bit patchy for about 1/2 mile then all snow. If it warms up your going to be postholing on your way out. Have fun. Quote
gapertimmy Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 yeah jlag, yer back on! what he said, but you really should get some skis mang! Quote
iain Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 This weekend is SUNHOG weekend! Take a lawnchair and a half-case of your favorite beverage up to the treeline below Villard Glacier on North Sister. A 20+ year tradition on Memorial Day started by some folks associated with Corvallis Mtn Rescue. Ski the bowls and lounge in the fog! Unfortunately I can't make it this weekend, but I'm sure there will be a showing. Quote
CascadeClimber Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 What's the weather forecast looking like down there? It's looking like yet another holiday weekend filled with copious amounts of liquid sunshine up here. Â So suck. Â -L Quote
gapertimmy Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Right now it is a toss up forecast. The wx in bend/redmond is looking solid, but the snow level is dropping in the mountains (wet snow is falling right now at 6k)... and the mountains may recieve some showers. slushiez! Quote
