TrogdortheBurninator Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 How is the approach for Ingall's Peak this time of year? Are snowshoes/ice axe/crampons necessary? Was thinkning of heading out there if it is accessible. Thanks in advance. Quote
Minotaur Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Totally free of snow. All you need is sneakers. Quote
Bug Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Take skiis. It will be a long slog. Check the road info in the Mt Stuart post in the Alpine lakes forum. Quote
Rodchester Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 I THOUGHT that there was still a good bit of melting to happen before Teannaway River Road opened up all the way inot the trailhead? Check it out by calling the Ranger station. Please post any beta you get. Sorry I'm not much help. Good luck. Quote
ryland_moore Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 ice axe/crampons necessary Yeah, I hear there are some serious glaciers and really steep slopes on the approach to Ingalls...... Quote
Bug Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 The guy asked for information and got flamed by assholes. Ice ax and crampons are not needed for Ingalls. There are some snowfields that could be frozen hard depending on the weather and time of day, but I have never used them on the approach. If you are tired of being flamed here, feel free to send me a private message. You just click on my avatar (Bug) and it presents you with my profile and a "send PM" link. Ingalls is a great peak. You will love it. Cheers. Quote
Rodchester Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Hey Bug: Not all of us flamed him??? So if you got recent beta on the approach, share...come on brother, show some love. Quote
Bug Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 Probably none of you are assholes. It just seems that way sometimes (except for me ). Check out MattP's info in the Climbers Forum. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/threadz/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/337469/page/0/view/collapsed/sb/5/o/all/fpart/1 Quote
