However, if you get a wireless card in a laptop, many places offer free internet access. Portland is really well set-up for this. I'm not sure about other places. A lot of people out there don't really lock down their wireless setup so if you live in an apartment you can get a good signal a lot of the time. Or you can go in on a co-op with neighbors but this is probably considered cable fraud or something. Quote
