jjd Posted March 7, 2004 Posted March 7, 2004 The Sierra Club has a couple of "photographs" in the lodge that purport to show the shadow of Jesus standing on the summit. One is an image of a shadow with its hand raised to the sky and a halo over its head. Very strange indeed. Quote
swaterfall Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Has any one heard of the Dalai Lama saying that Shasta satisfies all 12 requirements for being a spirtual center? I've heard this but never been able to verify. Quote

catbirdseat Posted March 12, 2004 Posted March 12, 2004 In Xanadu did Kubla Khan A stately pleasure-dome decree: Where Alph, the sacred river, ran Through caverns measureless to man Down to a sunless sea. So twice five miles of fertile ground With walls and towers were girdled round: And here were gardens bright with sinuous rills Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree; And here were forests ancient as the hills, Enfolding sunny spots of greenery. But oh! that deep romantic chasm which slanted Down the green hill athwart a cedarn cover! A savage place! as holy and enchanted As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted By woman wailing for her demon-lover! Samuel Taylor Coleridge might have been writing about Shasta, but more likely it was the opium. Quote
TJD Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 I climed Shasta in 1992.I saw a man in a speedo swimsuit, ski poles and a water bottle at his waist. He had nothing else on,I saw him descending the red banks at over 12,000ft.It was a cold windy june day. My wife said man that guy was built! Quote
