genepires Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Couldn't get the website up but I have a POS computer. Anybody else have problems with this link? Quote
Alpinfox Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 It's a direct link to a quicktime movie file. It's a large file from a slow server, so it will take a while to download. The item featured is some kind of cordless drill attachment that allows you to drill in your ice screws. I don't think I'd want to haul a drill on an ice climb, but it sure is fast. Quote
thelawgod Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 OMFG. The inventor must be a sport climber. That has got to be one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 Sadly, it's one of those things that is just aparently inevitable, a Bosch for ice climbing. Quote
dbb Posted January 30, 2004 Posted January 30, 2004 It's funny how that is an inevitable invention, but for a climber who isn't solid at the grade. If you can't hang on long enough to crank in a nice sharp screw with an express widget, should you really be leading that climb? I suppose one could argue that even for a competent leader, you could put more screws in with less effort... but where's the "fun" in that? Quote
