chelle Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Anyone know if these can help plants grow? My studio is not getting enough light and the plants are all starting to look like they are suffering. Quote
catbirdseat Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 The cheapest would be wide spectrum fluorescent tubes. The best would by probably metal halide because you don't have to have the lamp so close to the plants, but it's more expensive. The Indoor Sun Shop Quote

chelle Posted December 10, 2003 Author Posted December 10, 2003 No bud Alex. Don't touch the stuff. Makes me feel stupid. My plants are a fig, a palm, a ficus, and a puple flower cyclomen (which may not last the week...). Quote
bunglehead Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 Hey Ehm, you can buy these special planty spectrum grow lights that have the most output at the absorption spectra of the plants. I've got 2 of em and my plants repsond well to it. I also have to keep my place warmer than I'd like, but, oh well. Well actually, my setup is one plant spectrum light and one "full spectrum" light. Keeps em happy. I've go a ficus, a corn palm and a Caudex (spelling?) under there. Quote
b-rock Posted December 10, 2003 Posted December 10, 2003 the flourescent grow lights are good for full spectrum and will probably do the trick for your house plants. if you really want to kick it up you need more wattage, high pressure sodium (outdoor utility lights) fits that bill. Quote
