salbrecher Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Does anyone want to go on a climbing road trip starting in Lilloet then head out to Marble Canyon and then head out to the rockies? I can leave on Dec 13th and would like to be back around Dec 20th-22nd. I started ice climbing at the end of last season so it could be a lot of top rope or easy WI 3 so I can lead, unless you can. PM me if your interested. Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Good luck man :-) Looks like we are off to Mexico without ya. Quote

boatskiclimbsail Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 I'm planning a week or so in January to CO, spending a day in Jackson Hole, another in Alta, and then onto the ice in Ouray/Telluride. I've got to stop in Boulder to see some folks, and I just might bring the kayak for some boatin on the way back. Any takers? Quote
salbrecher Posted November 27, 2003 Author Posted November 27, 2003 (edited) Jordop, Funny you should mention Phelix.. I think thats where we might go again this year over new years. last year was pretty great conditions! Sphinx Bay hut to do some climbing if the lake is frozen though. jordop Posted November 28, 2003 Posted November 28, 2003 Shhhhh! I bailed at the last minute on Phelix last years when I heard how crowded it was going to be PHELIX SUCKS!!!!! Quote
salbrecher Posted November 28, 2003 Author Posted November 28, 2003 Dude man, it was happning! We tried to get into Brew hut but didn't even make it to the end of the logging road due to the 1.2 meters of snow the 48hrs before. In the end we had to break trail into Philix anyway. Anti social trips are great most of the time but at new years, other groups can be nice. Quote
Patrick_Beebe Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 That sounds cool to me - i'm a n00b at WI climbing, but got enough alpine ice under me belt to hopefully make the transition easy. Don't have a job right now so that makes me preeminently available. Also makes me a cheap bastard. anyways, definately would be a sweet roadtrip... Quote
