I'm just curious, I'm not intending to chop any routes. But how do you chop a glue-in? Chisel the head off, then drill out the stud? Retrosaurus? Texplorer? Dwayner?

I think it might take a while for the solvent to work considering the actual area that the reaction will have to take place and the rate at which it will dissolve. If there is a safe and effective way to heat the glue up (ie without torching your rope) and that is effective, that seems a good way to go. The thermal conductivity of the bolt is much higher than the surrounding rock, so that should work well. Not to mention that the splashing solvent and dissolved glue would likely make a royal mess on the wall. I guess the vapours might make it a much more enjoyable experience though... cantfocus.gif
