Dru Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 These are between Border Peaks and shuksan. In the photo, Larabee is at the left edge of the photo, and Shuksan is hidden in the clouds at far right distance. Tomyhoi Creek and lake are in the valley in right foreground. Anybody know what the peaks in mid distance on left are, and if the obvious rock buttress on the pointy one has been climbed? According to the Red Beckey, this is the Sefrit-Big Bosom Buttes-Granite Mtn area (??) but what is what Quote
jordop Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 Map sez Sefrit, Fred sez batholith. How 'bout that smaller face in front too? Looks like Mamie Pass area at head of West Fork Silesia. Nice pic Quote
tobytortorelli Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 I see Winchester, Goat, Bear (mid distance, brightened),and Granite Mtn., Sefrit, Nooksack Ridge, out to Ruth Mtn. (in clouds lft.) Cool picture, I was just out for a day trip on Winchester skiing Tuesday, looks framilliar! Quote

kThurner Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 Sorry to be uneducated, I still can't make it work. I Click the Image button in the reply, paste the URL in the dialog that appears, and click continue... and I get the tags in text instead of the display of the image. What am I not doing right to display the image in the message? Quote
Dru Posted May 30, 2003 Author Posted May 30, 2003 (edited) You need to put the image URL, not the page URL http://image.pbase.com/u29/kthurner/large/17241314.357unknown.jpg in between the tags. Like so Thanks, by the way. Except that doesn't work cause I can't direct link to that image of your appartently. When I click on the link above, I get a "You do not have permission to enter" message. Despite the fact I just found it on your website! Edited May 30, 2003 by Dru Quote
tobytortorelli Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 Don't know if your question has been answered with all the bad links, but Big Bosom Buttes are not visable in the picture, but the rock pointy summits are Sefrit and Goat, the latter of which has two summits. Quote
Dru Posted May 30, 2003 Author Posted May 30, 2003 Yeah and the cool looking buttress is on Sefrit and is maybe this NW glacier route in Beckey III with a couple of class 5 pitches at the top on the rock? Quote
Don_Serl Posted May 30, 2003 Posted May 30, 2003 way back in days of yore, the ruth-sefrit crossover used to be a popular semi-technical alpine outing, at least with vancouver-based climbers. one nite out, i believe. anybody still do this? Quote
kThurner Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 Okay, here's the pic I tried to post originally. Thanks for your patience. Quote
