scot'teryx Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 Recently laid off, and time to do whatever I want - yet I sit here on the computer doing some other work while I gaze out my home/office window at the North Cascades and see how nice it is, and no one to hike with. Life is boring today - guess it's time to hit the Mountain Loop again tomorrow...anyone heading up that way? Thinking about Dickerman or the Big 4 again. Guess I will have to bring along the mountain bikes though. A short trudge on flat ground from the Deer Creek closure to the trailheads can be long on the way out. Cpt.Caveman Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 I thought there wasnt any ice worth climbing there Phil Quote
Bronco Posted December 11, 2001 Posted December 11, 2001 There isn't anymore. We chopped what there was into little pieces when we weren't running away from avalanches. Quote
sverdina Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 Ha ha...twas most enjoyable to see you & Scott run for dear life when that small slab let loose. I look fwd to the photo of Scott going upside-down-style on the wall. Quote
scot'teryx Posted December 12, 2001 Author Posted December 12, 2001 Upside down style! Rippin it up on "The Small 4 Wall" Quote
scot'teryx Posted December 12, 2001 Author Posted December 12, 2001 A small yet loud avalanche that came down Saturday morning near the base of the Big 4 Quote
philfort Posted December 12, 2001 Posted December 12, 2001 Is there any good climbing in that hidden diagonal gully? Looks cool... whats in it? Quote
philfort Posted December 13, 2001 Posted December 13, 2001 I bet there's no ice in there Maybe it provides a way to bypass the "class 4" 80 degree crackless snow-covered slab of the standard NF route. Quote
