dryad Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 This past weekend I was out for a little walk on the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River trail with a buddy of mine. About half a mile from the Taylor River trailhead, there's a rock face to the right of the trail. I didn't get to check it out too closely, but it looked pretty nice from the trail. Location is here: http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=10&n=5266289&e=610799&s=25&size=m Anybody ever climb this thing? What's it like? Quote
chucK Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 That might be "Fee Demo Wall". 4 or 5 1-2 pitch slab routes just put up last year (5.9-11, I think). Others on this board would be able to tell you more. Quote
mattp Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 A buddy of mine has been poking around on another crag in the Middle Fork, one that he calls "Pillars of the Earth." It is a little steeper than "fee demo wall" and I believe it may be where you have indicated. Quote
Crackbolter Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 (edited) If it is the same slab I've climbed, is it 55 degrees at the bottom and steepens out to 75 or 80 degrees towards the top? Has anyone bolted it yet? I remember climbing it and slinging a couple of trees and toping out to the right below the steep face. Like 5.6 maximum I think. It is about a mile from the middlefork trailhead and bridge crossing if it is the same one. I have a photo I can post tomorrow. Edited May 5, 2003 by Crackbolter Quote
klar404 Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 While on rock up in ak-47 zone, has anyone ever checked out the stuff up by Otter falls? I'd guess 2-3 miles up Taylor river trail with southern exposure.I went up there as a newbie and remember doing the tarzan branch thingy up the side of a huge granite slab.It looked steep up higher. Blight Posted May 26, 2003 Posted May 26, 2003 i went by there sunday afternoon. it's about 15 minutes up the middle fork trail. all the routes were dry even though it is north facing. a tarp would be handy because the ground is damp. Quote
