Dru Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Hey sex choco or anyone else, how long is this route? I was wondering if it has dethroned Sisyphus Summits on Ha Ling for the title of "longest sport route outside Mexico". Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 Well it's not a sport route exclusively, nor is it that long. Maybe a thousand feet or so? Out of 13 pitches (some quite short), at least four (?)require some gear, with one 12a pitch being entirely gear. Quote
Dru Posted March 4, 2003 Author Posted March 4, 2003 (edited) sissy summits is 21, 25 meter pitches (or 10 50m plus one short one) so thats 500m or 1500 ft. i guess it still reigns! 13 pitches, some short, vs. 11 pitches, most long.... Edited March 4, 2003 by Dru Quote
sexual_chocolate Posted March 4, 2003 Posted March 4, 2003 13 official pitches, yet with a 70 meter rope, we cut it to 8(?) pitches. I don't know what grade he called it. I think VI is a bit silly, unless he was tying the approach into it (the approach is/was horrible). The climbing is generally fairly sustained and stiff, so does this play into the rating? I don't know.... Quote
Dru Posted March 4, 2003 Author Posted March 4, 2003 hmmmm, 8 X 70 = 560m, but I bet all your pitches were not 70m? or were they? Quote
Jens Posted March 5, 2003 Posted March 5, 2003 This is a route I'd definietly like to do this summer. Where did you get all your route info? Quote
Alex Posted March 6, 2003 Posted March 6, 2003 I thought Vanshing Point was that nice 5.8 pillar over on the Sunshine Wall at Vantage. Quote
