sexual_chocolate Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 The sonics are fucked, with or without Payton. After Whitsitt and Karl left, no one was brought in who could even begin to create a winning mentality around here. Shit, they've been playing for the eighth seed for years now, and ain't nothing gonna change that with Wally fucking Walker around. Plus, management treats the game more like a business, a badly run one at that. There's not an iota of meaning with this basketball team, and that means that the players simply ain't gonna care, and McMillan can't change that. Until the players feel like they're playing for something more than just making the playoffs (the recent mindset), basket here is gonna suck. Quote
crazyjizzy Posted February 22, 2003 Posted February 22, 2003 I agree completely with Sex CoCo, the problem is in the front office. GP's was a leader by example on the court, not a Capt. type, but was as fierce a battler as there is. Now we have no BC, and alot of stiffs up front. Quote
nolanr Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 I think it would be a huge surpise if Payton resigns w/ the Bucks at the end of the season. So they basically traded Allen for Mason. Desmond that is. Did somebody actually mention Anthony Mason? That guy hasn't done shit in years, other than wreck what Milwaukee had going 2 years ago when they made it to the Eastern Conference finals. The Bucks aren't going much further than the Sonics, they just happen to be in the East where you only have to go .500 to make the playoffs. Â If you were Jason Kidd would you seriously want to come play in Seattle, where they really don't have any kind of a nucleus of a title contender going? He wants a ring, and Seattle ain't the place to get one. Quote
nolanr Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Who says there's no good b-ball in Seattle? The Husky women kick ass, the Husky men are frustratingly inconsistent, but they have some talent. They put on a good show whuppin' up on the Ducks yesterday. Nate Robinson is a freakin' stud for a guy who probably isn't evn 5'8", he does things on the court that he just should not be able to do. allthumbs Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Fuck Payton, fuck the Sonics and fuck any born and bred American making millions that speaks ghetto rather than English, and doesn't have any team loyalty. Quote

There seems to be new excitement in the air. LeBron James in the draft, Duncan through free-agency? Â Man can Ray Allen play basketball. There hasn't been a true superstar in Seattle Since Kemp in '96. Yea yea Payton blah blah blah, but his attitude absolutely sucked. He was way too hard on himself and everyone around him. That ain't no way to play b-ball! That ain't no way to have fun and win games! Ray Allen brings fresh air and the greatest individual talent here since...Jack Sikma. Go Sonics! Quote

sexual_chocolate Posted March 3, 2003 Posted March 3, 2003 superstar=overpayed, undermotivated pussy. Â You haven't seen Kobe play recently, have you? Â Most superstars got to be such because they worked their asses off, along with unwavering self-confidence-nay-arrogance. How the hell else you gonna get to be a superstar? Quote
