aikidjoe Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Hi all - I'm curious if anyone has experience biking from Seattle to the North Fork Sauk River TH or other TH's on the Mountain Loop Highway? I imagine riding the Mountain Loop Highway is kind of sketchy with the cars, but I'm curious about the rest of the path. Or if anyone has experience going for rides like this, or can point me to resources I can find better information for safe(r) bike routes to the mountains for reference? Thanks! Quote
olyclimber Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 I have not done it. There is this: http://www.alpenglow.org/nwmj/09/091_Carless.html Quote
Alisse Posted January 21, 2023 Posted January 21, 2023 (edited) A couple friends and I rode from my house to the Vesper/Sunrise Mine TH. Happy to answer any specific questions! The worst parts were the FS road (we were kinda underbiked) and some sections through Snohomish with no shoulder. I remember some hooligans honked at us while passing fast on the Mtn Loop Rd but otherwise I enjoyed that section. It was very satisfying to get to the top of and then ski Vesper, all without using a car! Edited January 21, 2023 by Alisse Quote
