Fejas Posted February 14, 2003 Posted February 14, 2003 Doesn't this suck... Just about the time I decide to switch my game plan from Skiing back to rock scottch, the long awaited rain comes in for the weekend... I was going to hed up to wolf rock on sun.; anyone been up there this year??? is the road claer??? anyways I will bring my chainsaw, in case the Forrest Service hasn't got to road clearing yet in that area... At least there is no snow in that area, or is there... I guess I'll let yah know. Blue River area is supose to get a lot of rain, even through sun., it will be more of a recon mission more then anything... Quote
ryland_moore Posted February 14, 2003 Posted February 14, 2003 No snow at all until just before Santiam Pass. I was up at 5,000k last Saturday off Highway 22 X-C skiing and we actually had to take our skis off in sections because of the lack of snow. Depending on how cold it gets the next few days, there cold be snow down at McKenzie Bridge. Quote
Fejas Posted February 14, 2003 Author Posted February 14, 2003 Well that bites... I can't get throught the ranger station, so I might just hed down to Mckinley... any one check it out yet??? Quote
iain Posted February 14, 2003 Posted February 14, 2003 yeah worth calling the ranger station, but I think it's January-July that it is off limits. could be wrong though. Quote
Fejas Posted February 14, 2003 Author Posted February 14, 2003 Sorry I'm a little slow... ... But I get it now... closed, picture, off limits, nesting.... I thought only portions of it where designated to nesting... anyways I'll check with the rangers... Quote
Fejas Posted February 17, 2003 Author Posted February 17, 2003 Snow level droped, and it was really wet... witch I kinda expected... Hiked on west ridge, and then went else wheres... Quote
BiggieD Posted February 21, 2003 Posted February 21, 2003 The peregrines haven't shown up yet, besides, there is no closure at McKinley Rock, just Wolf Rock. Go climb, if you hear a "cack cack cack" you'll know to back off. Quote

BiggieD Posted February 28, 2003 Posted February 28, 2003 I've gone on a peregrine fact finding mission and have found nesting pairs at the North Comb of the Honeycombs and the wild life spire at Jurassic Park. Quote
