Peter_Puget Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Let's hear some opinions as to the best venue with 500-1,000 seat for a rock act in the Puget Sound area let's include Portland and Vancouver (BC) as well. Thanks PP Quote
Toast Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 The Showbox and Chop Suey would be my picks . Quote
Mr._Natural Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Commodore Ballroom, good size and easy to hook up on the street right outside. Quote
Peter_Puget Posted February 13, 2003 Author Posted February 13, 2003 I was expecting more opinions but there must be too much political stuff going on. Thanks! Quote
chucK Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Get with the program whiner!! Aren't you the one that resolved to send in many trip reports to CC.com? What did you climb last? Quote
Peter_Puget Posted February 13, 2003 Author Posted February 13, 2003 Hey ChucK Article on the way. Broke my 'puter and my scanner needs a SCSI card interface so my new 'puter won't work with it. Need to get a new scanner then scan those pics and maps and ol'PP will be in your good graces! Hey I wasn't even whining. I even said thanks! PP Quote
chucK Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 Hey c'mon!! On this board "whiner" is a joking term of endearment. Thanks for saying thanks. and BTW noone wants to hear your whines about your computer problems Just put out damnit. . Quote

Off_White Posted February 13, 2003 Posted February 13, 2003 I've enjoyed my recent forays to the Crystal Ballroom in Portland, its a nice old hall with a spring loaded wooden floor and no smoking. Capitol Theater in Olympia seats 800, but its still set up as a movie theater (complete with balcony) so it doesn't have tons of open floor space if thats what you're looking for. Olympia Film Society (great organization) runs it, and the floor does slope like a real theater, so it's conducive to actually seeing the show. Just saw Utah Phillips there, great show for those of a lefty/labor slant. What's the event that has you shopping for a venue? Is this a celebration of work not being hell anymore, or is it for the release of the long awaited article? Quote
Peter_Puget Posted February 18, 2003 Author Posted February 18, 2003 Free at last! Off I am sending suggestions to this guy's wife Ian Wallace. Hopefully he'll come around town this summer. Quote
