gapertimmy Posted February 10, 2003 Author Posted February 10, 2003 I smell Microsoft, plain and simple. no way dooood, mysql just can't handle the spray. either that or its my shatty coding. funny though our host kindly asked us to move away from the cgi based forum script to a php/mysql one, claiming it woudl be more stable... and how many times has the db server crashed? imho, i still think its faster/more stable than the old script Quote
iain Posted February 10, 2003 Posted February 10, 2003 mysql should be able to handle this amount of posting easily and is very fast. Yahoo and others have used it in the past (and still do). I definitely notice the improvement when doing searches. Quote
