snoboy Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 I am reading a history of the town where I am living, and it turns out to be an extrememly cool place... Thor Heyerdahl lived here when the Germans invaded Norway. It is, to some extent, the birthplace of the 8 hour day, and the Worker's Compensation Board. Also home to ski champions and was a big part of making Spoakne WA what it is. Quote
AlpineK Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 I kind of like Nelson and Whitewater more, but that's just me. Quote
snoboy Posted January 31, 2003 Author Posted January 31, 2003 Nelson feels like the big city to me these days! I like being <5 min to the skiing. Rest assured, it's not just you... plenty of others out there too. I wasn't trying to say any one place is better than the other, just that here has some really cool history, that I am just learning about. Quote
snoboy Posted January 31, 2003 Author Posted January 31, 2003 It says on my profile (kind of...) Quote
