North Fork Sauk FS 49 Access

Hey all you hordes of climbers looking to embark on a spring Spring Mtn trip, it appears the access road is blown out, MP .6. This is a well known slump area that goes every few years.

 

Please consider getting involved with Friends for Public Use, a Darrington based non profit group dedicated to helping maintain our access roads. Current funding levels and wintertime road damage indicate this may be a difficult year, and your volunteer efforts are needed.

Thanks for the update, I was hoping to head in to ski Glacier Peak that way later this spring so hopefully it gets fixed!

Bummer! Because of the geology, that piece of road will slip more after each wet winter. Fortunately it's not a major walk to the Spring Mtn. parking spot. Maybe a mile or two of road walking?

 

Unless it's an easy patch-up, Glacier Peak folks will probably be looking more at the Suiattle approach this year.
