i never complained about the improved sites. i complained about the peope who manage them. also to note they are hosts and not enforcement. fuck them and their attitude. they support what i do not. therefore they can kiss my ass. i have no problems with people volunteering their time, but once they place personal worth on something that belongs to all of us then they are in thr wrong. the land is for all to enjoy and not the people who can afford it. they are privatizing the icicle and the old people whom host it repersent and support it. fuck them!

cbs i would say the majority of the campers in the icicle are not climbers, a fair maount yes but not the majority. plus the rude ass people have only been there for about 5 years, the same time the deforrest service privatized the camping. hmmmm and how and why should we be charges to lay on dirt? seems silly. and i dont camp at the camp grounds. and i obey the rules of nature when i am in nature. i obey the rules of man, when i am dealing with man. i do not go outside to participate in another form of being told what to do. how i can experience the mountains. i go there to get away from all that bullshit.

This wasn't a real campsite, just a pull-off on some random dirt road. So no need to feel guilty about pilfering some caretaker's rake. the caretakers like everyone who works the icicle are assholes! free the icicle!

scott i know a fair amount of teachers and lots of them have tons of free time during these periods. maybe they are better planners, or teach mundane classes such as chem and math.... i think it is a personal take on it. we all have priorites.

I think guide, and while rock instructor would I think be interesting too, I'm light years away from being able to legitimately function as a rock instructor. how do you expect to legitimatley function as a guide if you do nt have all the skillz. certainly a guide might only need to be able to climb 5.8. but what happens when shit gets fucked on 5.8 and you are at your max? then everyone dies!! knowledge is power and the more you have the better off everyone is!

i think most starting out guides get paid like $75 a day and if you are in the some sort of alpine enviroment, then that is a 24hr clock. plus there is prep time and what not.

you will be selling your passion for a few dollars. in essence turing something you love into work and no longer something pleasurable. if you need, i know this hungarian mtn guide, he like circumnavigates in a big way and shit....

you need to obtain permission to operate a commerical venue on public land, as you would be profiteering. i believe requirements are insurance/bond and an amazing abilty to kiss ass. i personally think all guide services and guides should be required to spend atleast 40-80 hrs a year improving the land/facilites that belong to all of us in which they use to make money.

no offense michelle as we're friends. but i personally dont tread into big water during a storm, whilst unsure of my current abilites, in an effort to mitigate any possible sitmo's.

REALLY? I THOUGHT THE ROUTE. BORING AND MORE BORING. EVEN THE CONDOR ROUTE IS MUCH BETTER. THE ROUTE SEEMED QUITE STRAIGHFROWARD WITH LITTLE ROUTE FINDING ISSUE. THE PITCHES ARE SHORT AND FEW OF THEM CAN BE LINKED. ALL BELAYS ARE BIG LEDGES.
