pretty sure these guys didn't see what you were actually asking. Why would you ever want to boot pack? bring the ski crampons, not much extra weight super efficent and will get you to the top. have a blast bro. I am going to try and get on some ski descents this spring too.
I would really be interested in doing this! I work monday-friday from 7-4. So a weekend would be the best option for me. Just let me know what your thinking on a day to do it. I tele ski as well so approaching in skis is ideal
holy $#%# dude you are legit you are going to crush rainier. I decide to train a couple of days before doing rainier, my training consists of climbing other mountains. maybe yogging a little bit...(its pronounced with a soft j correct?) anyways I was wondering why you were carrying a 65lb pack? what was in there
usually I climb with a 35-40lb pack and I am trying to cut even that down.
I just saw the film Murder in the Snow, it was a very powerful movie which really fueled me to act. It is about the murders of innocent Tibetans on the slopes of Cho Oyu and was witnessed by climbers at base camp. Some spoke out while many others chose to keep their mouths closed. I think that this is the worst action that we as climbers could have taken and if it wasn't for the select few who did speak out the world would not have had a first hand account of these horrible actions carried out by Chinese soldiers. Please if you want to know more or help the cause please click the link to my blog where I have places you can go to help this urgent matter!
The Vertical Ascent
I was thinking of climbing baker on the 7th from the easton route and get some sweet skiing in. Looks like conditions are solid and the weather will be nice... let me know what you think... and if you want to join in or have other route/place suggestions
today would have been epic great weather haha how ironic I was following the weather all night and predictions were 90% chance 0 rain and then we end up with a rad day... bummer well I will get some climbing next time... hopefully pan dome next weekend...
normally i wouldn't mind the rain, but i was super stoked to climb with my bro, but the fing rain blows plus its super warm so that means its not snowing in the mountains either. this sucks
i just had to rant to get this off my chest
