Joe Lieberman was so popular with the D's they tried to beat him in the primary. Yeah, TOTALLY different. Not. Did democrats call Lieberman a conservative because he criticized the democratic party? I don't know a lot about it, but you seem to. Illuminate me? I didn't realize he had a history of criticizing his party. Also, I thought they *did* beat him in the primary? Why is it that whenever a republican has anything negative to say about his own party, he is labelled a liberal by his peers? Lots of democrats are negative about their party but they're not labelled conservatives. Kinda weird.

Also, I bet that most of the crazies on both sides don't identify themselves as "republicans" or "democrats" -- ESPECIALLY on the liberal side. The craziest liberals I know absolutely *hate* them dems, they think they're basically functionally the same as the republicans. I know a few tea partiers who also refuse to identify themselves as republicans. Who do they vote for, though, I wonder? Certainly not the black man! He's a muslim!

well, 5X would only be accurate if the selection pool of dems and repubs were the same size. 50% of one group is not necessarily more or less than 10% of another.

Kev, considering that the supreme court has regularly (and recently) upheld the right of americans to own guns for self-defense, I'm curious why you think the forced collection of everyone's firearms is so imminent. Can you cite a recent court decision or pending legislation that indicates the private ownership of firearms is about to end (rather than simply becoming more regulated)? Also, are you familiar with this?
