I was on the island in 1987. I was 15 and did not climb then. I do remember super awesome rock cliffs everywhere. We flew in and stayed with a friend. The weather there is superb and the water is clear as day and warm. Have a great time.

That bolt was placed around 1997 or so. Maybe as late as 98. It is not new and you have to tighten it every time.

Spring Mt is a super cool place to climb. The approach might be a 5 minute walk. Leave your rack and ethics in the car. There are alot of bolted cracks....never the less, a very fun outing.

I have climbed Stuart three times and have stepped onto a small snow field/glacier every time on the decent. It is just over the east summit. I have not found a safe way around it. I did rapell through some super loose and scary rock to the left of it once. I would have rather had my crampons on to just walk down it.

It’s always a good idea....you have a nice glacier to come down on the other side any time of year.
