I hiked Dog Mtn this morning (crazy wind/tons of snow) and saw the line across from Bonneville you mentioned - it looks like the hike might not be bad from hwy 14.
John, I'll bet the folks at Mountain Soles replace rands, they seem to do everything else. I don't know about their turn-around time, but I've talked to a few folks who were happy with a re-sole of their rock shoes. Their number is 503.236.0785
Didn't understand your time coordinates, Joe. What time do you want to meet and how long do you expect it to take? Also, is the poison oak up there pretty thick right now? I got a bad case earlier this year on Defiance. I'll PM my phone #.
Gotcha, what's the time commitment look like? I'm open 'til ~2pm. The routes in that area are a little stiff for me, I climb in the 5.7-8 range - however, I can help with the haul bag and belay if the time works out.
Portland climber interested in putting a trip together for 2006. It's a ways off, but I figure it gives us time to climb together on rock/ice/snow. I have no dates yet, as I'm still researching areas, but I'd like to visit Mont Blanc, Matterhorn, and/or Eiger/Jungfrau.
