  1. On your own? In China? How long till you could converse w/ native speakers?
  2. Crocs haven't been the same since they put fuzzy liners in 'em http://shop.crocs.com/images/Product/icon/440.jpg
  3. Looks like you got left behind too, buddy.
  4. I know, it seems like the conservative numbers are dwindling these days. I wonder what happened to them? Quick, check the bathroom stalls!
  5. No he claims to be the "Education President" (I guess Miss South Carolina got left behind)
  6. Yes, but think of how many homeless people he could house on all that freshly logged open space! Funny how Democrat charity always seems to begin with other people's money. Looks like the Bush compound would be a more spacious alternative. http://cryptome.org/bush-ranch-005.jpg
  7. What is "absinence"? Any comments on the Edwards compound...or Gore's electric bill? Apparently I did not hit the "t" key...T as in Ted Haggard. The Edwards compound...Just a few more lawsuits to win and he'll be able to reforest that last acre around his house. Gore's bill...unfortunately, solar power is still expensive at this time.
  8. I think what she meant to say is that we need to teach kids absinence from school from a young age so they can stay home and breed other nimbiciles who will vote for your uber-conservative, right wing wacko Christian homosexual senators.
  9. Monday, August 27, 2007 !!! :moondance:
  10. This year I got Chinese lessons at CU, and I convinced my hubby to go back to Vedauwoo this weekend to watch a University of Wyoming ariel dance performnce (trapeze/acrobatics + dance+ climbing = my kinda thing) and do a few climbs, then Sunday we are going to Nedfest to hear Sam Bush The bad part of the day is that I have to suit up and go on an interview and act all serious, and professional yet enthusiastic without seeming desperate
  11. Sorry, I was just bristling from Porter's affront! How dare he question my climbing prowess?!! :[](Actually I didn't climb over a 5.7 there--those off-widths are a bitch)
  12. Thanks for that. My only choice for training "low" would be Boulder, which isn't really that low (though I must say the flat trails are very appealing!)
  13. Anyone know what the cardio advantage is for training (in my case running) at a high altitude? I'm training for a marathon at close to 9,000 feet. I'm curious how much advantage this would give me at sea level for a long-distance event such as a marathon. E.g: could I expect to run 20 minutes faster (or more)?
  14. Can we trade Fairweather for Col. von Spanker?

    Bridge Collapse

Apparently that bridge was known to be "structurally deficient"...and apparently there are over 160,000 bridges in the US that are also in this category...very scary.
  16. I have lost 5 lbs. living at 8,888 feet.
  17. I resent that! I had two drinks and a bowl of chili.
  18. I'm sorry to hear about that woman. I agree anorexia can be really dreadful. My best friend in high school was down to 88 punds and had to be admitted to a hospital (luckily she's normal now) But, from a societal perspective I'm guessing the number of obese people in this country outweighs (pardon the pun) the anorexics 1000 to 1. Btw, I'm not convinced those actresses are unhealthy. Some people are just smalled boned, or like SJP, former dancers. I once had this annoying co-worker follow me to the bathroom a lot. I finally asked er what was up and she told me she was worried I was a bullemic. I asked her if she'd ever noticed the grande cups of Starbucks on my desk that I drink 2 of per day (but how creepy is it to have your colleagues monitoring your peeing!?)
  19. SJP is not conventionally pretty but she has great style! Check out that black & yellow dress. I gotta find me a knockoff... In reality most Americans would do well to emulate these two. Obesity is a far greater problem than underweight.
  20. I think they look fine. Both in great shape and over 30.
