  6. [quote Uh huh. Liberals keep track of everyone's race. Who was nominated for that position/promoted to that job/won that tournament? Oooh another WHITEY CRACKER? Damn, that figures. blah blah blah. People who keep track of everyone's race at every turn are in fact racist themselves. People who simply live and don't worry about what someone's race is whether it be for a political position or a CEO at a company, your boss, whatever, are not. All a person has to do to be considered racist is to note and remember others' races? Absurd. And people who simply live and don't worry about other peoples' race are white men. They are the only people who can afford to.

Its from his studies at the University of Alaska.
  8. Note that if you plan on getting a non-catastrophic plan at some point (say, through a future employer), the catastrophic insurance will not eliminate the need for a waiting period. That is, if you have a regular, non-cat plan on your own then get a fancy plan thru a future employer, there will be no waiting for full coverage. On the other hand, if you only have a cat. plan yourself, then are offered coverage through a future employer, you could have to wait for treatment. Oh, and all this is for pre-existing conditions. Your waiting period or lack thereof depends completely on your employer's policy (different companies negotiate deals with their provider groups) and/or what you have negotiated with that employer. Usually, your current insurance status has no effect on this (it may for state employees--I don't know anything about that system). Recently, there has been a great deal of legal changes regarding pre-existing conditions. Most plans no longer exclude pre-existing conditions. If you are between jobs because you are on leave, be sure to research the FMLA act of 1993; you qualify for a specific type of coverage. If you are planning on being in between jobs but are still currently working, you might want to consider COBRA---your HR person will have info for you. Catastrophic coverage is good if you have assets you want to protect and don't want to risk filing for bankruptcy in the case of a major accident. But remember, the state will cover your care if you do not have the funds to do so; and you will not be refused emergency room treatment regardless of your insurance status. On the other hand, if you plan on traveling abroad, remember that many basic coverage plans do not apply--you need extra/different coverage for that.

  18. WOW An amazing degree of self loathing! "Whiny little bitch" Whoa! So here's another personal attack from me to you. Just because you finally deigned to realize that women are also human beings and therefore equal to men, doesn't mean that I have to be a nice little girl and go sit in the corner and be so thankful that you say you see me as an equal. Hell, I know women are equal to men, whether you recognize that or not doesn't change that fact. It also doesn't mean that differences don't exist. They do exist, and I feel comfortable discussing them, arguing about them, and examining them. And I think that the men posting on this thread do as well, but I don't mean to speak for them. I just enjoy the engagement.
  19. Would it be more convenient for you if I started another thread that you can post all the personal attacks at me on so that we can keep this one going? I'd be happy to do it if you can help me come up with a clever title.
  20. Is this what you mean by a "blanket statement"?
  21. Another post that makes no sense.

  23. "their bodies" is where the argument falls flat on its ass. there's more than one person involved Men seem to think that they are the other person involved. Wrong. BINGO. The assertion that men, politicians or not, should be involved in the decision is laughable. The females of our race have the responsibility of bringing children into this world, and with that responsibility comes a right to make the decision on when and how they do that. Is this a particular case, or do you believe that in a general sense one cannot formulate an opinion that extends beyond the particulars of one's identity? By this logic no one should take women's opinion on the draft seriously, because they do not have to register for selective service. As things stand now, women have the final say on whether or not they wish to bear a child or abort it - and I'm personally comfortable with that - but it doesn't follow that men should preclude themselves from even thinking about the morality of the matter, or that their opinions should be discounted on the basis of their gender alone, if for no other reason that you are essentially using an ad hominem argument to defend a woman's right to make this decision - and it's an incredibly weak means of doing so. Formulating an opinion is different than legislating rule. And because men are the overwhelming force in legislature, what you said about women not having a say in the draft is essentially true. But even aside from that, I could probably be convinced that as long as women are not drafted, that it could be up to men alone to decide on whether they wish to continue that barbaric practice or not. Hell, it's men who start the wars that require the deaths of so many people in the first place--you guys are more than welcome to deal with that problem and pay for it with your own blood.
  24. "their bodies" is where the argument falls flat on its ass. there's more than one person involved Men seem to think that they are the other person involved. Wrong. What argument do you use when confronted with a woman who believes abortion is immoral and should be made illegal? Can't see the gender argument working very well there. Nope, it doesn't. I use the one that makes sense to me. I happen to also believe abortion is immoral b/c it results in the willful killing of another human being. However, I refuse to enforce my beliefs on other women and thereby cause more harm (emotional harm from having to bear an unwanted child, physical harm resulting from illegal abortions, etc etc.)
