  3. Well, I was supposed to go to Lworth tonight till tomorrow, but once again my partner bailed. I really want to climb today , so if anyone wants to meet at X38 around 4pm, I'll want to hit the gunshow area . Some new routes I want to check out . PM --Stretch
  4. To Peter's rescuers!
  5. I think a physical card is a great idea. To me it was very meaningful last August when my mom died to receive a card. Maybe we all can send a card to a PO box, then send them all?
  6. I would most definately be in for a donation, card signing. I pray for Peter's family, and for Scott, for what he's been through. Count me in! To Peter

    Ranier Beer!

That commercial with the bike was shot out in Buckley. Now, on that same corner, a HUGE housing develpment has occured and blew the whole nostalgia thing...sad

  9. Quick question. I camped at Windy point, on the tieton, last year, and went for a quick hike directly across from the campgrounds. Upon inspecting the rock, I noticed quite a few bolted routes along the wall. I've been reading up on that area, and can't figure out which wall this section would be called . Any beta? --Stretch

  12. What are your thoughts on how to clean a rope. I've read to put it in a bath tub and clean, I've also heard to electrician coil it and throw it in the washer. The latter sounds iffy.... What do you think is the best way?
  13. Actually, plans have changed. I took the day off , so I'll be getting there first thing in the morning. Then my friend is going to meet at around 4.30, and we'll climb for the rest of the day... then....
  14. Taking newbie up to X38 on friday. Probably climb at the far side. If interested PM. Stretch
  15. Yeah, last year we were at x38 doing some warm ups at the top of the bridge. I was leading the 5.9 on the right, got to the 3rd bolt and looked up to see some guy getting ready to set a tr on the route I was on. He actually scrambled up the left side, and wasn't even on the rock when I started. Boy, did my partner let him have it. The other guy started whining about not going fast enough, so he got in a huff and left. No manners.....

    worn rungs

When I first started sport climbing, when my partner would reach the chains, he would run the rope thru the bottom rungs to set up the top rope. After he quit climbing, I kept at it and noticed the bottom rungs on some of the routes were pretty worn. I started thinking about it and figured that its faster to clip draws close to the bolts, using the draws for tr, then using the rungs only for rapping off. I went to x38 and noticed a lot of people using the bottom rungs for tr. Half of the popular route's rungs are getting pretty thin. Which way is more acceptable: draws or rungs

    home walls

anyone have any cool pics of home walls?
  21. Just recently, my climbing partner broke his foot. I was pretty bummed about losing him as a partner for the year, until I started snooping around about local mountains. I've climbed sport for about 3 years and have led the last 2. My current lead is .10b. I also have placed a bit of gear on some Leavenworth routes. Getting fired up to learn some alpine climbing. Heres my question: While surfing, I located a peak called The Tooth. Upon researching, it looks like a somewhat easy climb, being only 4 pitches and 5.5. Has anyone or will anyone be climbing this rock soon? Would like beta for rack, and or a new partner to share this experience with. Thanks, Stretch
  22. My climbing partner recently broke his foot messing around. Bummer. I can't wait for him to heal, so I need someone to climb with. I go to x38 after work, and on weekends. Also have been checking out the Tooth. Any beta on this climb? Anyhow, if you want to climb, wolfkid75@hotmail.com Stretch
