  1. Nordstroms the department store did not buy OR. OR was bought by a child of the Nordstroms dynasty, however. It seems he's a fairly reputable person, so hopefully OR remains around as they always have. Their prices have dropped a bit since the swap in ownership. Crocs aren't over $60. The gloves have come down in price. Seems like a good thing. As for the BD gloves, I have a few floating around at my shop, I'll check to see if any are your size. Alan
  2. I still have these boots. I NEED to get rid of them...
  3. Check your PMs... Then Call Me.
  4. Check you PMs
  5. Boots are still available because, according to Second Ascent, they are out of season... I need to get rid of these!
  6. Those are the hottest looking skis I have ever seen. Looks like they hired Terrentino to do the graphics for the Rev. Sweet!
  7. I had the precip for a while, but found I out performed it. I upgraded my jacket to a goretex paclite jacket (Sirrus SL from Arcteryx.) And have been infinatly happier with it. Paclite is more breathable, more durable and less clammy than the precip, in my opinion. I've also found that when the precip does wet out, it tends to get kind of saggy, which I havn't seen happen to the packlite. I think my jacket is a little bit heavier (only a two ounces or something like that) but I'm willing to carry the extra weight when I have something that will last longer, keep my comfotable, and have a hood adjustment system that is lightyears ahead of the precip jacket (any marmot jacket for that matter) Precip= Paclite= Alan
  8. The new Freneys are built on an anatomical last. Basically, it is curved. The idea behind that is to match the curve of your boot to the curve of your foot. Result: You might be able to find a place on the boot that is more solid to stand on; it allows your foot to sit a little more neutrally. I have a pair (Freney Pro), but they are TOO curved for me. Tons of room on my big toe side, no room on the little toe side. I've tried on the XT and it was better on my foot than the Pro, wierd Mine also are for sale in the Yard Sale forum (only $100, almost new) Alan
  9. Price Lowered to $100. Any takers???
  10. no, they changed it from the black fabric crap to the rubber. sorry for the lack of clarification...
  11. The rand on the 7 LTRs are Rubber. And yes, they changed the rand on the SM lite after a year or so of it being out.
  12. I'm in Tacoma. Check your PMs
  13. Yeah, hit the Mt Si Tavern. We need to over run that place with climbers and whitewater boaters. Make the loggers and mill workers uncomfortable. Seriously though, Mostly nice people at the Mt Si, pool and darts. The Big lady will challenge you at pool though, so watch yourself, she's good. Alan
  14. Put the canister under your pillow... the canister fairy will be in shortly. Response to a previous comment about how they can refill home propane tanks. Those are heavier built. The canisters are built with weight in mind. If they were to over build them to prevent bends and dings from exploding when they are repressurized, they would be much heavier. That is not a good thing.
  15. Get some reusable hand warmers (the gel ones that are kind of hard to find any more, they used to make round ones that fit under a canister well.) You don't want to use a wind screen around many canister stoves either. This will cause heat around the canister, but will cause the canister to explode. You may also want to consider what type of fuel you are using. Most propane/butane mixes work with the stove. But some have more propane than butane, and vice-versa. The more propane the hotter it burns. I think MSR has the highest propane content at this time. Companies have to cut the propane, which is the better gas, with butane because propane is too high pressure. They would have to over build canisters and come out looking something like a mini propane tank that you have on your barbeque. Most good store staff will know which canisters work best at altitude. If not, buy a few of them and see what works best for you. I've had best experiences with the MSR IsoPro though. Alan
  16. they are definatly a non insulated boot. I did have them in snow on a hot day, had no problem with cold seeping through, or water for that matter. A solid boot. But more of a summer mountaineering boot. Alan
  17. Those montrail lotus' are calling my name... Help me answer. Alan
  18. They're still here, Any offers at all???
  19. I want to sell my rocketbox so that I can buy a bike. Need to sell fast! The color of the box is white with a gray bottom. As mentioned, I do have keys for it. The box also features internal straps for stabilizing the load. I'm asking $300 for it, OR BEST OFFER. Any help getting my new bike would be greatly appreciated
  20. Just a classic leather hiking boot from our friends at chaco. The boot seems to fit pretty true to an 11, my boney ankle just disagreed with it after some milage. The boot is made in Italy, and includes a pair of chaco footbeds, which are modeled off of their sandals. The boot is in good condition, with one tiny spot of barge cement on the toe of the boot. A decent approach boot, I even know someone that Aid climbs in his. Scrambled up The Brothers with no problem at all (except for the ankle that made me feel like puking) I'm selling these for $100 OBO. They are a great boot, feel free to try them on at an REI or Alpine Experience (I beleive they both have them) Also, if they don't fit, I can return them, as long as you havn't used them. If you have any questions, PM me. Thanks for looking, Alan
  21. For being an older pair of skis, these are in good condition, They have been drilled once on one ski, twice on another, for a total of three different binding hole paterns (long story, tua replaced a delamed one with a used ski) One ski has holes for a superloop, the other has holes for what appear to be Fritchis and G3s. The skis also don't share a serial number. The ski is the Tua Razor in 187 length. The razor is basically a stiffer mega (same dimensions) There is still some life in the ski, but some reconstructive work had to be done on the base; came out pretty solid though. See pics below. I'm asking for $20 for these, or maybe a case of beer; your choice. If you have any questions, PM me. I'll respond pretty quick. I do also have some higher resolution close ups of the base and the above shots. Thanks for looking, Alan
  22. I recently got a rocketbox and havn't had a need for this ski rack. It includes locks and key and can easily hold 5-6 pairs of skis or a few snowboards. This rack has treated me well and still has plenty of life in it. It also comes with attatchments for a Yakima roundbar rack. Selling for $40 OBO Thanks, alan
  23. These boots just don't fit me. I've worn them twice, once on a break-in trip to flapjack lakes and parts beyond (20 miles) and the other on a flopped trip to Mt Adams (14 miles) These boots are in awesome condition, and would fit someone with a solid 10.5 foot very well, I think. Crampon compatable (newmatic style) and are fairly stiff. I am asking $135 for them and not willing to go much lower, these boots cost more than $250 new (which they practically are.) Leave me a PM with contact info if you're interested. If you buy them and they end up not fitting to well, I can of course return them (if they haven't been used more) Thanks for looking! Alan
  24. The montrail lotus gtx looks pretty sweet. I don't know how well it would fit your foot, given that you were in Makalus prior to loosing them. I'll probably buy a pair of the montrails as soon as I sell my other boots (sz 45 scarpa freney pro, BARELY used (this shameless ad plug brought to you by midol.)) Try on some boots. If you havn't checked the garmonts out, do. see what fits.
  25. Well after wearing the boots a few times, I've decided that they are just too small. They are in great condition, just a little bit of dirt and things on them. I typically wear a size 11 us, but they are just too short for me. They are newmatic crampon compatable as well. I need the money to replace the boots, thinking about going with some salomons. Asking $175, OBO Also for sale, A yakima buttondown 6 ski rack with locks. I just got a rocketbox, so I don't need the ski system anymore. $25 OBO If anyone needs a pair of light hiking boots, I also have a pair of Chaco boots that I'm selling. They are the Garvin style, all leather. The boot is pretty nice, but just abused my ankle after about 10 miles. All items are in tacoma, PM me if you have questions. I will try to get some pictures as well. Alan
