Wilbur F. Chitwood, 53, of Ashford, WA passed away today (pictured below, on left) Disoriented by AMS, Chitwood reportedly filled his Coleman stove with vodka and consumed 2 quarts of denatured alcohol. Trask, glad to hear you're safe and sound...a friend told me that conditions were bad on the Horn last evening... The story I heard was that someone (we thought it was you) chose to bivy on the summit, and avoid the risk of nighttime rockfall and also those pushy Europeans queuing for the fixed ropes. Ralf Kleineschwanz, the last man off the summit, had reported that there was a crusty Amerikaner who was mumbling curses about listening to advice from some guy named Caveman Twight...he was setting up a bivy in a Hefty trashbag, and had only a Slimjim and a Cytomax/pee bottle with him...

Anybody heard from from Trask? He is WAY overdue and hasn't even returned to the Hoernli Hut...I don't envy him doing this, and in the dark...

The first thing to say is that you are up WAY too early. I'm on the east coast and I'm barely awake. The second thing I'd note is that you appear to be chestbeating about the kind of game-playing that you say makes the site ridiculous. I don't get it...you spent a lot of time playin' the games, pullin' people's puds, but the site is too much about ridiculous game-playing for you...

Somebody mentioned tear-open cans of tuna...just be careful of tear-open cans coming from parts of the world where canning operations are scary (the list would start with Indonesia...) There is a real risk of "leaker" cans, which present a potential botulism risk. No kiddin.
