So is climbing a sport or an activity?

Now that we know that they are ok, we need an answer to the following questions: Who called for help, Lamebone or the girls when they found out it was more than a nickname? Was there trouble keeping up the puptent? Did someone call out the wrong name in his sleep? Enquiring minds want to know.

From the bottom of the article: Ron Borges writes regularly for NBCSports.com and covers boxing. Boxing. His idea of sport is people trying to beat the crap out of each other.

Princeton Tec has two different LED headlamps. The older Matrix looks like a standard headlamp and has a 3 LED insert which replaces the standard bulb and reflector and uses 2 AA batteries. The newer Aurora looks like a tikka with 3 LEDs in a triangular pattern and uses 3 AAA batteries. [ 07-30-2002, 10:04 AM: Message edited by: Attitude ]

Shuksan/Sulphide: I've met several people who left the trailhead at midnight, summitted by 8, and were back at the cars by noon. Climbing the summit pyramid does require 3rd - 4th class rock scrambling skills, though.

Cut the rope! CUT THE ROPE!!!

One downside of the Princeton Tec IS the hinge holding the heavy battery/led case. The little screw has to be tight enough to keep it from flopping down. I'm sure you are familiar with the problem.

And it's spelled m-o-r-o-n. A moran is the terminus of a glacier.

I'm confused, but thats normal. Sounds like jon has finally ridden his bike for 15 hrs. Can't wait for the TR. quote: Attitude, yeah bike lanes are dumb but kinda nice if you ride a bike and want to risk the occasional intersection confusion. Lets put it this way: you get saftey most of the time and then scary danger for a few minutes![/QB]No. Most accidents between cyclists and motorists occur at intersections, not between them. Bike lanes do nothing to mitigate the risk. If both motorists and cyclists pay attention and follow the rules of the road, everyone would get to their destination in relative safety. quote: Originally posted by jon: For instance there is a helmet law in King County yet you still see people riding around, families with kids for that matter, riding without helmets. Not only is it unsafe and outright stupid your breaking a law that is there solely to protect you. These people should get tickets. Sounds like a helmet law for climbers would be a good thing as well.

quote: Originally posted by Cpt.Caveman: [QB]Let me ring out and say that I spent 7 years in the army. I jumped out of copter and planes and jets. I can tell you that many officers and soldiers\military personnel take pride in their jobs and especially in rescue ... the pride runs deep in that area rightly so. I can only take my hat off to any of them and all of them. I hope they still remain bold and trained well. It is in some way considered training sometimes when these personnel are actually not "training" but rescuing but I am sure they get the right pay for them as well as personal and public gratitude they deserve. Indeed they are true heroes. I am sad to hear of deaths and injuries also knowing they are unavoidable. QB] I've met several mounties who are ex-military, including Rangers. These are the people that you have threatened to trundle boulders on their heads. With aggression!
