  1. yeah i think i was the one that said it... it is pretty faded now, but still there and quite noticeable! WTF
  2. yah... man that was epic just recallin...epic on castle rock! opps got riled up ...need another bowl...
  3. yes...i may sound like a mountie, but always verbally check double backs. i saw a guy take a fall who i noticed they didn't check each other on canary and took a lil screamer...i heard a schhhhh as the velcro came undone and the guy started screaming that his harness was comming off... luckily he was only .5 pitch up and was able to be slowly and smoothly down, but wow... how close was he to decking on those jagged rocks at the bottom? i yused to think things like taht were for geek mounties until i saw that and wow i will never not check my partner and insist that he checks me... 4. i would have to say negatory on the ford thing as well (even though i worked in a ford shop when i was in high school) seems like every one has some kinda major glitch. like my f-250 if prone to overheating and all carbeurated fords are notoiously cold starters, but the list does on... nissan pickup trucks rule as do the s-10's (erik) but jsut dont get the 2.8, that motor is a piece of shit and it takes 3 hours to just replace the starter!
  5. 1981? damn i'm a "gen Xer" shiat.
  6. shut up and you'll tie my shoes when i tell you to biatch!
  7. true...definitely makes you re-check your motives for climbing...
  8. i am curious about the fact that the top three piesces (except fot the nut which pulled) were damaged...the blue lot had frayed wires, the tcu's biner broke and the red lott' was stripped... somethign jsut does't make sense to me... if the pieces weren't placed well wouldn't they have just pulled without so much damage? 9. i was checking out and a static 10.5 mill is about 27kn breaking strenght and has an elongation of 3% whereas dynamic ropes have about 9 kn breaking strength, but have 7.5% stretch...if they did take a leader fall on the static rope, it owuld rip a cam right out if anywhere near 27kn was generated...the thing that makes me look at the rope is that teh cam was stripped....this suggests that it was placed well, but pulled out by brute force... i knwo it is purely speculation, but i cant think of anyother way the cam could have gotten mangled and still come out...
  10. because capn' a static rope will deliver a massively larger impact force on the gear not only on the initial fall...but also each time a piece pulls...if you climbed on a static rope, and you fell on lead, you would be killed....therefore if it were static, the rope would not be the first thing to break (as static ropes are stronger generally than dynamic) the biner or the placement would... just curious that seems right to me...but always willing to learn... 14. "there is not one damn loose item to be seen" that is what he said cock sucker he never said "nothign" in teh car...he said he wasn't a fucking tool about it and leave his cd faceplate on teh fucking seat and his x-tra climbing gear sprawled about...eat me and learn how to read...and have a day
  15. for sure...but if let alone...enough o2 can be turned into free radicals and then fuse with other 02 and replenish though right? (hence what we have seen with the lack of use in CFC's in teh last 10 years making a "smaller" ozone "hole")? but the other chemicals created from CFC's are still in teh ozone for ever correct? or can they be turned into free radicals by UV radiation? sorry jsut curious.. well i guess if tehy were broken up, they woudl still be CFC's and then screw the O3 so once there they are pretty much THERE correct?
