a) I was being sarcastic and I'm usually not there by choice in those conditions b) this could be applied to any mountain in the range c) I climb other mountains and am quite sick of Mt. Hood, believe it or not. (but it is a great substitute for stairmaster as a midweek climb, no work missed!)

come on, the best hood climbs are when you can't take your helmet off because it's rime-iced to your head and you can't use anything that has been facing west for more than 5 minutes

I guess what is difficult to figure out is that they are using those 2000lb JDAM bombs which supposedly kill everyone in a 120m radius, injure anyone within 365m with shrapnel, and to be guaranteed of safety, you have to be 1km away, and they keep releasing that these bombs are being used in Baghdad, while at the same time are trying to reduce "colatteral damage". And that's if the bomb lands w/ zero targeting error. They do seem to be going out of their way to avoid civilian casualties though.

as far as I know you can use older devices on the new firewire 800 port, but not vice versa. not like there are many 800 devices even shipping yet. I'm sure there will be bridges available to deal with that situation though.

No, it was pretty well socked in. A weather system rolled in that trapped the party in low visibility. Snow was still nice and light though, but a pain if you have to break trail. Seems to be warming up however.
