  5. sounds like when we were doing a search for a missing climber (still missing today) in the Three Sisters Wilderness a few years back, and we started tracking ANOTHER person who was lost in the snow doing a through-hike on the PCT. He was trying to figure out which way to go with an Oregon state highway map. The incident commander told us to give him a good map and make sure he made his way out of the county.
  6. english...do you speak it?
  7. or the time I was passed out after a long climb at the Glacier View snopark down west of Govy (kindof a run-down pulloff, not well-marked) and a couple of tourists drove in there and asked me where the glaciers were and how long was the walk to view them.
  8. Word is, someone got out of the car in the Timberline Lodge parking lot and was wondering why they built the lodge so far from the mountain, as they gazed off at Mt. Jefferson.
  9. Look who's been watching Footloose again. F'ing destroy that tape Dru, it's seeping into your real life.

  11. man wish I was free, but have to work and weekend is not looking particularly free either. I'm ready to get back out to beacon now and climb the two or three routes within my ability.
  12. If you are going unroped in the dark I would definitely stay far left on the glacier. There are many large crevasses that open up later in the year (I have climbed it in September before) and they extend far over. Should be a cakewalk right now, but tread carefully.
  13. the rock pinnacle on the right is actually Smith Rock, and the buttress on the left (where the narrow ridge is) is the Mohler Tooth. I would stay away from the right side of the glacier. I have witnessed huge breaks off the icefall on the upper right, and these somehow bounce large chunks all the way down the glacier. I say stay on the left where there are no crevasses, then traverse over to the ramp up to the ridge. I agree with the camping deal.
  14. yeah nice.
  15. In general? Or were you looking for someone recently up there. The route should be in excellent shape right now, with some minor ice bouldering through the bergschrunds. Be careful if you skirt the first one on the left, as it is exposed to serious rockfall.
  16. nice, spraying in style finally. I'm using the 20" flatpanel right now, so sweet.
  17. isn't that 13+ or something? get dwayner on there
