  1. quote: By the way...The Kyoto Treaty WAS NOT about cutting CO2 emissions; it was about the re-distribution of wealth. Actually the Kyoto Treaty was about cutting CO2 emissions, but it failed in part because the U.S. gov't (and people like you) view it only as a tool for re-distribution of wealth. Those who are rich (US) do not want to pay for the damage we are doing, which will inevitably be felt first and foremost by those who are poor (developing world). And, hey, that's cool cause we all know that unbound, unregulated, let-em-make-money-the-rest-of-the-world-be-damned capitalism ultimately makes the world a better place, right? 2. I'm new to icefall climbing though I'm experienced in alpine ice and rockclimbing. Have hit vertical ice a few times and LOVED IT AND WANT MORE.For lack of a partner who can lead ice I'm looking to get out and TR this weekend to try and get my feet under me before taking on leading. WI3-4 would be ideal. Looked over Jason Martin's guide-in-the-making and was wondering if anyone knows what kinda shape any of the following are in:Pan Dome FallsStevens Pass/Nordic WallIcicle Creek/Blast Rock WallSnow Creek Valley/Millenium Wall [ 02-01-2002: Message edited by: sayjay ]
  3. Sunny day, alpine climb, with glacier travel approach and a multi-pitch crack climb to the summit. Paraglide off the summit and land in a field by my tent where dinner and a whiskey await. (yeah, yeah, so carrying all that gear on a paraglider might be a bit tricky...but hey what's a fantasy for, anyhow?)
