My life is shit. If you rearrange the letters and numbers in "Member #1589", you get "My time is of no value." What a coincedence! [ 10-02-2002, 02:32 PM: Message edited by: Necronomicon ]

I think they were trying the N. Face. Some folks told me they could see them from the lower lodge, so this is my assumption.

Additionally, I sought a partner for last Saturday, and couldn't get it to work out, (although I did get a few bites). Am I bitter? I hold you all responsible...

"PM YOUR STATS": Allows for premptive exclusion of unsatisfactory potential partners. As I seek to triad lead my first 4.12d sprot root with my new octentrics, SDLCs, and crababoners, I probably shouldn't try to head out with a person who finds some sick satisfaction in V 5.9 A2, what ever that means. -Dog

quote: you *can* find partners here sometimes. trouble is, most of them that do climb already have partners Do you climb? My partner is in California for the month, and I like to do hard routes. PM your stats if you want to get it together.

quote: maybe if someone could get a real job that they could skip work maybe they could have climbed that damn route.... Maybe the future of the free world hangs in the balance, and if I call in sick, where would we be then? What's the weather looking like for this weekend? Good luck finding a partner on this site, I'm convinced most people here do more spraying than climbing. PM your stats, maybe we can get it together.

The ice is forming up FAT!! You are missing the best October WA Alpine climbing in recorded human history!! Enjoy the rain, -God

This dude was awesome! Though his passing is sad, let his accomplishments and ambitions continue to serve us as inspiration. He was a true hardman, and I hope that I can be just a bit like him.

I bet they're having fun, seeing as it's raining torentially in Deming at 300'. I wonder if they checked the "weather forecast" before they headed up. Hope they get down OK, it might take a while for the clouds to allow for the Helo to fly.

This should work...

Only one taker so far and he can't go on Saturday. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Don't be shy, I'm a Good Guy.

I'm looking for a partner for this upcoming Saturday, E Face of Lexington Tower, WA Pass. PM me, head out on Friday night?, or satanically early Saturday morning? -J

I tend to concern myself with the route, rather than the top. Why ruin a good route with a slog to the top, just for the sake of going to the top? I have enough potential energy as it is, what's a little more going to do for me?

No one has mentioned "latent death wish" yet, like "I want to be dead, but I'm too chicken-shit to just slit my wrists, so I'll go climb some gnarly coluoir in too warm conditions and hope I get obliterated that way instead." What about "Modern life is so sterlie and boring, this day-to-day monotony, so comfortable, so far removed from the struggle for survival that our species has dealt with from the day we started crawling forth from the primordial soup. I feel a need to make myself as uncomfortable as possible, completely unsafe and natural, and climbing serves this function."

What's in the pack, a case of beer?

quote: This is exactly your problem. You can't see how the means determine policy. Would our policies be the same if policymakers had to enforce them? Let's ask President Pretzelchoke what he was doing during the Vietnam war. Compare his "policies" to the inclinations of Colin Powell, who served in Vietnam. Which is the War-Monger? Powell is certainly not a hawk, but Shithead is. Hmmm...

That's a "butt-plug"? I had no idea! Thanks, Trask, for bringing your experience to bear on this occassion. I kind of knew, from your posts. We could all tell. It's cool, though, so you shouldn't feel bad. You might have to switch party affiliations, though, the GOP doesn't tolerate your type.

From the summit, our line looked truly killer. Boy, what a shame, since I can't remember when I've last seen rock of such quality, and a line of such elegance. It's of the caliber of the East face of Mirkwood, near Mt. Baker, but more solid. Plenty of fun to be had for better equiped climbers. I'd give it a go this season if I were you, if you've had your eyes on some of the gems in the area...The colouir to the right of the buttress looks killer, too. The newly climbed route to the East ("Back of Beyond") is THE gem though. An awesome line, sure to be a well-renowned classic. I'm glad I didn't have my eye on it, only to have it scooped. It sure would burn inside... [ 09-22-2002, 02:55 PM: Message edited by: Necronomicon ]
