  1. Yes, as in "me work, you don't". Me smart and independently self supporting. You not. You're an idiot. Get a job. Stop the charade. Dumbass.
  2. Pitcher, or catcher?
  3. I've spent 30 years talking to the people you describe and the vast majority fall well inside the IQR. What we have on this site are a bunch of outliers who found a home. I'm here to provide a faint voice for reality. Charity work, really.
  4. your distate for the forces of capital is practically Democratic! Um...TTK's tall tales about his personal resume have been revealed as "inaccurate". Where ya been?
  5. I didn't know I had to choose a side. Are you saying that if I don't support Crux' proposed violence against the president then, by definition, I must hate the environment?

Um...they liked the revolution they saw over here, tried it, and let it go horribly wrong? :head in basket emoticon:
  7. Yer a reel tough guy. Grrrrrrrrrr.
  8. You guys are idiots. If you bothered to read my two initial posts on the subject, you would understand that I'm really not for this tax. But I do think the indignation about this proposal from the same knee-jerk libs here who regularly argue more taxation for the common good is pretty funny. What a bunch of freeloaders. Espacially TTK--who doesn't even have a job, for God's sake!

  10. I hear what you're saying, but in Washington State sidewalks are built/maintained with property taxes paid by homeowners and businesses or mitigation fees paid by developers. In fact, in the town where I live I recently had to shell out $1100 to rebuild the sidewalk that passes in front of my house because it was being uprooted by a tree that the town had planted in the right of way. So I'm not sure your argument works well. But you're right...where does it stop? Don't forget--motor vehicle drivers are paying for those bike lanes, and those cyclists still require energy to move from point A to point B. Chances are that energy was grown with the help of carbon-based fuels.
  11. Normally I don't like new taxes, but this seems like the perfect opportunity for those who ride to share the burden. Were it not for that "Critical Mass" fiasco a couple months ago, I'll bet this idea wouldn't have a prayer... http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/opinion/2008474326_opin07jimvesely.html
  12. Oh, so arrests have been made, they've determined it was Arson, and people to the left of center have claimed responsability? Yes to all. Unfortunately their leader shot himself in his bunker before he could be made to account. So it goes...
  13. Sorry, didn't see it. But what do you think of the question?
  14. Contrast what would have become of somebody who chucked a shoe at Mubarak, Basher Assad, Ahmadinejad...or Saddam Hussein. That, it seems to me, is a question worth asking.
  15. The hate you guys spread about this woman has consequences. Doesn't it bother you that some of your like-minded thugs set fire to a Palin's church in Wasilla (with children inside)? Well done. You guys remind me of the Krystalnacht crowd all over again.
  16. Boca a boca. Ello es esperma banco de Ivan. TTK: No, mano a mano no es también tan hombre a hombre. ¿Comprendes? Tu no entiendes español muy bien y tu eres bobo grande. Una vez mas, tu tienes insertar su pie en su boca.
  17. Hand to hand? WTF?
  18. Limited operation today, so we skied for about 5 hours until the cover got too thin, then headed home. For 25 bucks we couldn't complain. Yes, there are quite a few rocks and even more brush sticking up. The top is not open. I wouldn't want to ski Sunday unless it snows a little more tonight. Also, I drove up FS Road 73 (on the way home) to the snow park just to see how it looked. There is about 3 feet of snow all the way from 410 to the snow park, but the road hasn't been plowed. I don't think its passable w/o 4wd and clearance, but there is more than enough snow for some good ski or snowshoe touring up the White River or Sun Top.

Maybe if you would try peeling back a couple layers from time to time you would have a more nuanced view of how this thing happened.

The UAW has been giving up concessions for 25 years, you dumb cluck. Yes. Exactly.
  21. "Jackson's Mark" needs to be restored. Explorer Post 515.

The UAW could have agreed to wage concessions before 2011 too--but they didn't. Just pay your bills for a change and shut the fuck up.
  23. Slightly to the God-believing side of agnostic. I think everything is probably not what it seems, but also that it is incumbent on us to strive toward greater scientific understanding in a deliberate manner as if it is. My guess is that we are all either small parts of a greater consciousness or that we are just faint sparks of chemo-electric consciousness in a vast universe that may or may not have a beginning or an end. We will all eventually have the answer--or not.
  24. I'm going to wait until I hear what Jim Foreman has to say.
