...i'm not the only one, sphinxie, and if anybody thought that, they'd be rather mistaken about climbers' lobbying efforts at the state level... but if i can bend the ear of those guys in the favor of dirtbaggin, why worry, buddy?
-
...Teddy doesn't let me do that anymore, lummox....hehehehe
-
i believe the department of the interior is now under control of the department of homeland security, unfortunately... no more smokin in the Muir hut, they've probably got it wired for real time video now.....
-
...fees and recreation and the abuse of the general fund, roger that, Erik...
-
...is that...Siegfred and Teddy?
-
let me ask this (and maybe it needs a new post, but not now, maybe next year) what do you want me to tell the governor about climbing issues in Washington state? ...and be honest!
-
..trask, i actually didn't have anything to do with Greg Nickels giving us five grand from the OED down at city hall, but we are terribly grateful the city had this money for disbursment..they donated over 120,000 dollars to twenty neighborhood organizations including ours, i had nothing to do with the grant proposal...but next year, we're going to ask for video software to make ruxpin productions a reality... and erik... this was a shameless self promotion plug- what I talked about with Brad Owen, we're holding that in confidence... but i did use the words "Eyman Angst" in regards to our state's woes.... Peter Steinbreuck, he's more of the climber type...
-
i haven't sold out, nada... i don't pay politicians for influence, buddy, they pay me, trask.... harharhar...when the mayor gets you a new G5, give me a shout..we'll do lunch. hehehe i sprang a beckism catchphrase on Brad Owen yesterday at Brasa on third avenue, "Eyman angst" I hope to see it catch on...

i would send a photocopy of the ticket with the error highlighted and tell the us gov the've screwed the pooch on this one, no body in the US actually knows what the directory of homeland security thinks about fee demo, they may prioritize it as high as tracking iraqi nationals as far as we know here, south of the boarder (did you guys know the national parks are now run by the homeland security team?)
-
...laughing all the way to the back on the five grand the mayor gave us a month ago... good thing i'm not too concerned, yersterday's post about meeting the leiut gov was only a shameless plug, and, so what? the next time you(oh, wait, that was me) guys talk to politicians about climbing access in WA state, you'd probably be doing a GOOD thing..
-
"everytime day in the morning, when you get up and you crawl out of bed, crawl out of bed, crawl out of bed" "and every night and you fall flat, fall flat, fall flat on the ground" "If you look in the mirror, it's you're father's face, and the thin grin, the thin grin..." "so we're all a sleep in the same dream, the same dream..." Leo Kotke next time any of you all talk climbing with the lieutenant governor or city councilpeople, let me know... that's what I did today... Kurt, if they even let you in the same room with city councilmen, I guess that'd be something! troll, troll, troll... do you guys think i'd waste the time of the lieut gov with talk about you hopeless fucks?har har har I'm laughing all the way to the toilet! no offense, H&C my apologies, it's certainely not the site!
-
...no dru, actually none of that, i was posting a troll here t the market...
-
...neither of the bros are going to be there.! no, it's dirtbag climber all the way, i think we might have ONE manufacturer on site, otherwise, it's been 100% donations only.. unless CC.commers are COMPLAINING about omega pacific, for instance, about sending a couple of hundered of bucks worth of gear for the ropeup....and maybe, some of the staff might be there as climbers... this is NOT a WTA trails day at Rattlesnake L (you did such a god job with that one, i model ours after it).... not...Marylou...
-
i talked to the governor a couple of months ago, today it was his vice gove... kurt. don't you see the positive effects here? why are you so anti, i didn't ever expect that from you. your efforts at smearing our good works in leavenworth are very clear, but i still thought you appreciated a dirtbag climber's party in l wurst... but you dis this year's fest with such antienthusasism, it makes me wonder... cheers, K!
-
har har har kurt, you dont see the synergy... talking to big wigs about climbing concerns is a way to promote climbing in washington state, and you may not realize this... so ....
-
i'm always buying size 12 leather tele boots but i top out at $60 bucks for like new, and 40 for avereage wear, and twenty for beat to heck but still good pin holes... if you want sixty for them , let me see, i'll buy them in a heartbeat...
-
it's a shameless plug, kurt... but i told them about ropeup, so it applies... if you ever get the lieutenant governor buying you lunch (actually it was the SAM, but both of us weren't paying) let me know, kurt... and if you mention climbing in the Northwest to a city councilman, and they listen to you , let me know... i'll write it up in the newspaper...
-
yeah, dru, i think its 25 kn closed gate strength to pass CE nowadays... and only 8 kn open... (Kn is about 260lbs of force,to the questioners out there...) omega pacific tries to keep rope radius on its biners larger than other ultralite biner forgers, this may give a big advantage to the 33g keynose omegas, i haven't seen any in person yet...
-
i met with both the lieutenant governor, Brad Owen, and Seattle city councilman Peter Steinbrueck today... told them both about ropeup, also had drinks with one of the financial producers of "sleepless in Seattle" this afternoon, told him about ropeup also... he only spends about $25 million per picture, maybe he will be a sponsor next year and fund a project out there or something... just being a shameless self promoter, sorry...
-
..well, we're looking at "almost an ounce" 'biners from some companies, i'd have to agree, the DMM twised gate keylock carabiner is akward and posibly ill designed, lighter is the trend, and 36g has been the leading edge for 2 years...in5 years or so, i hope to see a biner that weighs less than an ounce,28.5g
-
did that happen recently? contact the AAJ for accidents in american mountaineering,in boulder, 303 384 0110 with questions... i know a ranger at rainier, he and a buddy were trapped for over a day in a crevasse on rainier back in the sixties, he climbed to the top with a sharpened spoon! Rick inspires me to always carry a spoon in my parka.. and never surrender
-
...sorry dru, didn't mean to get you all worked up!!! i found Jarry to be at an akward place in surealism and this is why i dis him, not you!
-
36 g 'biners are about the lightest you can get; fadedrs, i don't know about but i think they would have caught on if acceptable... lightest 'biner curently available is 36g, the nutrino...next year it is 31 gram.. how bad of a post is that?

....there i go again, handing out some good beta on new gear and getting flamed for it!! har har har you yahoos, i don't even work at marmot anymore, those (reserving comment on web site and will spray those losers in person, not on website) let's just say i got fired over questioning return policy on climbing gear (don't assume your gear hasn't been used before you buy it from those guys!) as an issue for my termination Beck
