  5. I realize that there are two independent “second pitch” lines; however, from the photo-diagram in the 2nd edition guide and the written description and diagram in the 1st, it appears that Bicycling starts up Insomniac and then veers right after several bolts. Just wondering if the guide is misleading or a direct start to Bicycling was added. The right hand “second pitch” is a good route. The distance between the 3rd and 4th bolt is a bit out of character for the area but the climbing is excellent.
  6. On a related topic… Is Bicycling to Bellingham completely independent of Insomnia?
  7. Don Juan fits your parameters and it is a GREAT route.

    Logic

A woman goes into Nordstrom and tries on an outfit for a BBQ/Party. She decides it doesn't look right and so she doesn't buy it. Instead she makes expensive lunch plans thinking that since she just "saved" $175 she could spend $100 on lunch and still be $75 ahead.
  10. hey..be polite these are baseball fans youre writing about...jeeesh that shit may be ok with football fans but come on we're talking baseball
  11. ..that ball girls are not allowed to speak to the players? Bat boys sure can.
  12. Jeesh...dropping gear happens all the time...someone drops one of my 'biners I say forget about it....I've had ropes chopped and chopped partners ropes and we just moved on....in general keeping a balance sheet on gear is BS..of course there are exceptions depending on circumstances but a certain small loss level is to be expected....over time losses tend to even out....of course if you insist on climbing with your rack and I am poor I say you eat the loss. So Bill if we are climbing and I bumble a 'biner youre really going to expect me to buy you a new one? Are you even going to care? BTW I doubt the fall has significantly damaged your 'biner.
  13. Whatever FW. I've called BS on a lot of posers on cc.com but you won't see me calling BS on Ring. He's the real deal.
  14. FW - I have no idea how tough you'd be in the ring but I gotta say somefights just aren't worth it even if you do win. Once while watching a NAZI documentary we saw a clip with Adolph saying how he would make the youth "tough as leather and hard as Krupp steel." After that we use to say to each other "Ring is as leather and hard as Krupp steel." We were serious.
  15. Ring - I can't out him but I remember well the first time I met him. He was sitting at the base of Crack A Go Go smokin' joints as fast as he could scroll them. He was a friend of a friend so I was thinking he was just another do nothing Valley stoner. We were wanking around trying to avoid the lead when he says he'd lead us up. About 15' later he was at the top of Hardd. It was so fast that if you would have blinked you'd have missed him cruise it. Looking for a rope gun we asked if he wanted to climb with us the next day. He declined saying he was going to ride his bike from the Valley to Lee Vining and back the next day.
  16. My money is on Ring. He's one bad ass motherf##@er.
  17. How about a Ring Angle v. Fairweather match at the next beach pub club?

  22. In a thread titled "Name That Route" it seems reasonable that there would be two main classes of posts. 1) Photos of existing routes with a reasonable chance of being recognized would be posted. The goal being to see who can be first to recognize the route. 2) Photos of new routes would be posted and climbers would try to "name" the new route.
