I've read so many of some people's posts that it starts to feel like I'm inside their heads. So perhaps I am only someone's avatar after all. This is a strange place. It would all make sense if there were 420 of us.

Dru's right. I'm a chronic lurker but an anemic poster. I'll reply until my number of posts is no longer bringing down the group average. But I'm curious, how many people am I theoretically talking to? What do you suppose the ratio of actual people to avatars is? I'm guessing 529/1660. 529 beans in this jar.

Thanks for looking out Dru, I drove past Chase/Squilax recently--also known as "the place where I damn near drive off the highway while trying to look at the cliffs." I pulled over this time, and it's completely dry up there. But I'll be over Revelstoke way this weekend and will poke around east of Malakwa. Yeah, backyard ice!

I think I want a "Pagan Winter Revel" for Christmas. Would that be similar to an Ice Festival?

What about Golden? Anyone been out there or know where info is to be had? Neither the Rock'n Ice site nor Will Gadd's page have mentioned anything.

Has anyone ever climbed ice near Revelstoke BC? Not that it's happening around here yet. I'm just thinking and dreaming... if it were colder, if I knew where some nice routes were, if I could talk someone into taking a little drive up the highway, then I could climb... I know I could just keep driving and get to Golden or Field, but it would be good to know about some routes closer to the back door. Thanks
