  1. Looky here they are reading us in Britain! http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=61667 Only problem is, what they are looking at is the stupid GOLLUM PICTURE!!! I mean can't they appreciate us for our own qualities instead of re-posts from rc.com?
  2. NO LINK FOR YOU!
  3. "The Dirty Doughnut" I thought you might be referring to this news story
  4. SQUAMISH HARDCORE ON CASSIN RIDGE "what's for dinner?" "Diamox or jack-in-the-pot"
  5. even though it was easy for the grade? did you hop on "Donkey Puncher" at the Belfry Bob could rename it "Clown Puncher"
  6. it may not be required for *Americans* to have DL & BC or PP to re enter America... but it IS required for Canadians to have same. and like wise for Americans to enter Canada. the only thing is sometimes they don't call you on those requirements. ever since 9/11 I have had to show the documents to enter US. AND usually but not always coming back into Canada. usually if you are Canadioan coming back into Canada though, they are more concerned with how much you bought so they know how much duty to charge you. now that the CDN dollar is at a 10 year high vs the American $ they are not as impressed by your tourist dollars spending power too so they are more picky about who they turn back. also the border guards are all cop rejects anyway. they see the US border guards getting guns and so on and they get jealous and try and be bad ass to make up for it. "To make a border guard they take an incomptent policeman, drill out the skull, and pack the cavity with horseshit" - more or less Geordie Smaill quote c. 1975.

  8. if they made a #15 hex you could use it as a bombproof bivi shelter as well as for pro.
  9. i don't have the file on my work compy to upload, i would have to save it to the computer here first incidentally i just resized my display to 800 by 600 and now i feel like i'm reading a large print book for the visually impaired! how do you stand it? the snaffle is so big it is scary
  10. the picture is a bivouac - you-must-pay-20-bucks image so I can link it with image tags but can't post a usable link (if you aren't paid up the link wouldn't work) . am i supposed to resave it to my work computer, shrink it with stupid MS paint, and re upload it just so you don't have to twitch your mouse arm and drag the scroll bar?
  11. maybe there will be an Earthquake too? It 's god's judgement on them for voting Schwarzenegger as governor
  12. is that - just hex, or hex with cord? and what about curve hexes on dyneema or on wire (lighter or heavier?)
  13. mentally CHALLENGED! or DIFFERENTLY MENTALLY ABLED my brain damage is not handicap. it is like a free lobotomy! it helps me work better at work and like ice climbing more!
  14. the weight of pitons is not bad but if you are doing a route without a snow/ice approach then its the weight of the hammer that makes the diff. hamnmering with a rock is sooooo suck. i think TCU are lighter than hexes but i only use hexes for the #1 camalot and up sizes where weight saving is notable. also you can hang the hexes around your neck on a sling to clang and impress chicks on the trail, like FB does.
  15. kick out the jams

I think I read about her somewhere...can't place it... just because the book says "Lovecraft" doesn't mean it's about sex

    Thanks Bill!

    Halloween is coming
  19. resize your display.... everything looks better when you aren't on 800 by 600
  20. Small rack for a route that you are repeating as opposed to a FA would be 4 hexes 6 nuts and 3-4 tricams plus 6 to 8 shoulder-length slings with 2 biners per sling. Cams are too heavy to take on a "small" rack. if the climb is hard enough you can't be bothered to spend the extra time finding a good hex placement, then don't take a small rack. My dos centavos.
  21. Hozomeen Who here has climbed south peak? It looks so cool.
