Hemlock has been domesticated. Sad, sad. Jtree was the shhhh as usual. Quite an outragious new years party- it included a fashion show, a potluck, band, several kegs, and lots of nudity...oh and the REAL chongo even showed up.

  1. When I started getting into trad- I built an anchor board...I took a 4' x 4' piece of plywood and drilled 3/8" holes all over it in a random pattern. Then, using 3/8" bolts with 2 nuts each, attach them in all the drilled holes so that the heads of the bolts are sticking out from the board a little bit. This is a good way to practice equilizing anchors- by placing wired nuts over the bolt-heads. You can simulate multipitch routes with the board as well- image you are reaching a belay stance, build an anchor on the board, belay up your imaginary follower, clip them off, and set off onto the next pitch. ( I used to get some strange looks from my roomates when I would be shouting out belay commands to my imaginary follower) The board is also good for practicing setting up hall systems (big wall climbing)

  2. I dyno'ed for one of her slopers, I then found a bomber two- finger pocket. I traversed around the backside to a greasy lieback. I then applyied a heel-hook, followed by a mantle, leading to a climactic finish. The descent was very strenuous, involving a lot of bushwacking wink.gif" border="0

  3. try this: http://www.audiogalaxy.com I've gotten a couple of hundred songs off of it. You have to download their "sattelite" but after your're done, delete it and restart your computer. It's the shit! Also, the songs are kinda hard to find once they're downloaded- go to search in the start menu and type in mp3, then move them from (wherever the hell they are???) into your documents.

  4. I replaced 3 anchors- right of party in your pants, bob's your uncle, and george and martha. The cost was about $20. (slings, hangers, and rings). I got several messages from people offering to send a check to help pay for materials. What i would suggest is that every time you come to vantage, bring some hangers, 3/8" nuts and washers, 9/16" wrench, and either slings and rings or chains. Vitually ever hanger was removed from the top of the cliff. Also, the bolts above tangled up in blue were broken off so they will have to be re-drilled. This is a tragedy but we're gonna have to replace what was stolen. So, let's all chip in. ($20 is a small price for all the fun I get from going there). Whoever did this is a classless thief and I hope they get what they deserve!

  5. I was just siting here reading this B.S. while studying for a communications exam- I thought some of the terms would be applicable- attack on a person:critisizing an opponent, rather than the opponent's argument. Building on an unproven assumption: treating an opinion that is open to question as if it were already proven. Strawman: a weak opponent or dubious argument set up that it can be easily defeated. Symposium: a meeting featuring short addresses by different people on the same topic. [laf] Thanks for helping me study, guys. [laf]

  6. I recieved a reply message from the individual who I thought might have been responsible for this act- He has denied doing it or even knowing that it had happened. I believe he did not do it. In fact, he probably put at least one of those rappel stations in to begin with. I apologize for any slandarous presumptions I may have made on this public forum. Also I wanted to thank everyone for sending the private messages and emails- it seems everyone does give a damn. So, who the hell did it? confused.gif" border="0

  7. Quick question- will standard 3/8 nuts fit on the existing studs? Wallstien? I'll probably have to drive to Yakima to get hangers. The anchors that were removed were above Bobs your uncle/steel grill, next to party in your pants, and at the top of tangled up in blue. I'll probably just put in 2 slings with 2 rap rings (I don't want to invest too much in case the fucker strikes again) any advice would be appreciated.

  8. I don't think this was done to get the hangers for future use. Some of the missing hangers would have been a bitch to get to (free standing pillars) This obviously took a lot of effort. This person(s) was trying to make a statement. I plan on replacing The 3 missing rap stations this week- anyone want to help/ donate some material?

  9. I made a horrible discovery at the Coulee today. Someone has stollen the hangers off of at least ten routes in the sunshine area! Also, all of the rappel stations were removed. Was this done in response to all the "Osama Bill Robbins" graffite in the parking lot? This was not making a statement, this was some bitch-ass cowardness! If you don't like the sport routes there (niether do I) that's one thing, but this was done with no regard for the coulee or the environmental impact there! That fragile area up top will only be further trampled with the absence of the rap anchors. This act really saddens me. How dare this person(s) do this! I'm emailing the #1 suspect to ask him if he did it. If he did, hopefully he'll admit it. This affects everyone, not just the people involved in this stupid "conflict"
