Ryan Wichelns Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 (edited) I have a pair of Grivel Air Techs with the "new matic" binding (metal front, plastic back). I'm hoping to replace the metal back with the plastic (like their "New Classic" bindings) so I can more easily wear them on regular boots without digging into my heels but I can't figure out where to find the part. Any ideas? Edited November 12, 2015 by Ryan Wichelns Quote
truax Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 Yeah, Liberty Mtn is the NA distributer. I believe that's your best bet but I have a feeling that they don't stock such parts and would have to get them from Italy. Let us know what you find! Quote
Jon H Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) I have a pair of Grivel Air Techs with the "new matic" binding (metal front, plastic back). I think you got your front-back description crossed? Anyway, to add the "universal" heel will be problematic. The plastic cuff is riveted directly to the steel crampon heel. I doubt that the part you're looking for is even available for new purchase. You can try Liberty or you can also try The Mountaineer in Keene NY. They have been longstanding Grivel distributors and keep a very well stocked parts bin. Other option is to buy a full replacement heel. That way you can swap between crampon styles without buying a full set of new 'pons. Edited December 2, 2015 by Jon H Quote
