Snoqualmie Mountain or Red Mountain might be challenging enough but just one day trips. There are also lots of peaks out of Easton and Salmon La Sac. Â Quote

mattp Posted January 15, 2003 Posted January 15, 2003 The Mount Margaret area would probably be pretty good because you could snowshoe up to the crest at about 5,000 feet without crossing any avalanche zones and there are some nice lakes up there. However, you may share part of that Rocky Run road system with snowmobilers. Quote

obsydian Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 Silver Peak area is one idea. You get above treeline. Can go in via Hyak, or Lake Annette. PCT goes through there. If going up by Hyak, can ski in, even take the chairlift up to the top of Hyak. Quote

obsydian Posted January 20, 2003 Posted January 20, 2003 We just did Roosevelt this Saturday 1/19, that area beyond Snow Lake is very nice, the lake is frozen, can walk right across it. Gain one of the ridges on the other side by Gem lake, the views are great, can see and hear folks climbing Chair Peak. Quote
