allthumbs Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Prague may just be the most unhealthy city in the world. It boasts the highest per-capita beer consumption globally, and if it's not in the top 10 for filterless cigarettes, then there's been a serious miscalculation. Smoking is seen as the only reasonable defense against the disgusting air quality, the argument being that the lungs need "toughening up." Sunshine is so fleeting that Czechs tend to burn themselves deep brown when it appears, or give up on the sun entirely and go through life with a pasty "pub tan." Worry is a favorite national pastime, second only to scarfing down fried pork with mayonnaise. Perhaps because of the above, a growing number of young Czechs are forswearing beer completely (those rebels!) and spending every other evening at the gym. Prague does have some large and lovely parks good for running or blading, namely Letná and Stromovka, both in Prague 7 near The Globe, but you still see a lot more dog walkers than runners--so watch where you plant that Air Jordan. Cheers from your reporter at large... trask out Quote
catbirdseat Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 That was rather off-the-wall. You suggesting you've been to Prague recently? I don't think so. Quote
Roger Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 I'm drunk now, and steppin out to pick up fat farm chicks. looks like you found 'em... Quote
RobBob Posted January 10, 2003 Posted January 10, 2003 Yeah, everybody stay away from Prague. It's a terrible place. You wouldn't like it. I'll keep ya posted from time to time and let you know if things change. (Damn, that is a wimpy looking winking smily.) Quote
