I'm planning to climb the S. Sister with my daughter Friday - Sat July 4-5. Can anyone tell me what the current conditions are from the TH on the Green Lakes trail. Also, how much snow is in the Moraine basin. Finally, what are the climbing conditions above 7,000 feet.

Thanks in advance for anyu information you can give me.

I'm curious macnaw - how much snow was there left on the south route? It looks like from the bottom of the Lewis glacier up to the crater is well melted out and dry.

that face/red ridge from lewis tarn up to the crater often has bare rock as early as june.. I would be shocked if you couldn't get from the bottom of the lewis up to the crater rim by staying solely on rock.

We were up there last weekend, and the top and bottom portions are almost entirely melted out. We were on snow from the golf course to about 500 feet below the tarn on Lewis Glacier. The rest was all trail/scree. Of note, the scree at the very top was especially bad because I think part of the usual trail is still snow covered (although no one was climbing up on snow in that part). It seems like it was way more melted out than trip reports I read from just two weeks before our climb, so I guess it's melting quickly up there.
