rob Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I need to spend a night outside in the mountains before I cut myself -- assuming favorable weather later this week(haha) anybody have any good ideas for an early season overnight ski tour? Need some inspiration TIA! Quote
alpine et Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 something high... decent snow didn't start until 5600' off SR2 this past weekend, and its only gotten warmer since, I believe. Quote
DPS Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 I was up at Cutthroat Pass a few weeks ago and I thought the touring would have been pretty good. Not sure what the snow is like now though. Quote
Jason4 Posted November 11, 2013 Posted November 11, 2013 Ruth Mountain off of 542. I was up there 2 weeks ago and slept on the bench on the south side of the summit. There was a great slope above where we slept that felt like a permanent snow field. You do have to cross a glacier to get to the summit. The bridges were obvious and possibly dubious. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Muir was skiing nicely last Monday... light powder and not too blasted. Scrubby down low and I accidentally rail-slided a staircase into the parking lot. Gate opened bright and early at 11am after a light storm... I can't believe people put up with that on a regular basis! Quote
cman Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Mt. Baker - snow and mellower than down at paradise. Quote
