Lisa_D Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Our car was parked at the edge of the Eldorado Trail Head, among about 50 other cars. We returned from a climb late Sunday night and found the rear right passenger window smashed in. They made off with quite a few things. From our memory, none of the valuable stuff was visible from the window, so it seems like they spent a bit of time looking around in the car. We were on a multi-trip outing where some people were doing climbs that others weren't, so we had more stuff than normal sitting in the car. Fortunately, it was all replaceable stuff, our phones and wallets were with us and we have good renters/car insurance. Still, what a bummer! I'll be spending a lot of time on the phone, filling out paperwork, and recovering the stuff. Whoever did this must be a pretty desperate, lame person. Be careful with your valuables, especially when you are on road-trip type outings and are leaving things behind in the car! I've got a call into the Skagit County Sheriff and I'll be checking craigslist for my stolen stuff (cams, camera, tent, backpack). Quote
ivan Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 bummer. but did they saw through your gas-tank too like they did mine? Quote
Lisa_D Posted August 19, 2013 Author Posted August 19, 2013 apparently not because we made it home just fine... PEMCO has been great to deal with so far for auto/renters coverage. Quote
JasonG Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Whoah, this hits close to home. Thanks for the warning! Quote
