Our car was parked at the edge of the Eldorado Trail Head, among about 50 other cars. We returned from a climb late Sunday night and found the rear right passenger window smashed in. They made off with quite a few things. From our memory, none of the valuable stuff was visible from the window, so it seems like they spent a bit of time looking around in the car. We were on a multi-trip outing where some people were doing climbs that others weren't, so we had more stuff than normal sitting in the car. Fortunately, it was all replaceable stuff, our phones and wallets were with us and we have good renters/car insurance. Still, what a bummer! I'll be spending a lot of time on the phone, filling out paperwork, and recovering the stuff. Whoever did this must be a pretty desperate, lame person.

Be careful with your valuables, especially when you are on road-trip type outings and are leaving things behind in the car! I've got a call into the Skagit County Sheriff and I'll be checking craigslist for my stolen stuff (cams, camera, tent, backpack).
