iain Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Mount Hood Meadows opens tomorrow, with Daisy and Buttercup lifts running. Should be epic. Quote
Roger Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 thanks for the heads up... I'll head home early and sharpen my edges. sounds like freezing levels are supposed to drop to 2000 feet tomorrow and wednesday... come ON dammit, snow!! Quote
Greg_W Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Haven't been there, but I have trouble imagining anything named 'Daisy' or 'Buttercup' being instrumental in an epic. Sounds funny when you think about it, but then, I'm ignorant on the subject. Quote
iain Posted December 16, 2002 Author Posted December 16, 2002 buttercup is the superbeginner lift and daisy ain't much more than that. Should be more open by the weekend though I think. Quote
gapertimmy Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 Outback opened on Friday, and NWX is due to open this weekend Quote
Roger Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 you are correct... Daisy and Buttercup are the lifts serving the flattest terrain at the west coast's lamest ski area. have to say, though, I've witnessed a couple of near epics on "Bunny Face" at Smith... to the extent one can have an epic on a one-pitch 5.7 sport route. iain Posted December 16, 2002 Author Posted December 16, 2002 Is there much snow on Tumalo Butte and the cinder cone Tim? Quote

Did these epics entail the climber realizing that his Pusher beanie did not properly color-coordinate with his Prana pants? Quote
iain Posted December 16, 2002 Author Posted December 16, 2002 usually it is a climber realizing the difference between leading and toprope. Quote
Roger Posted December 16, 2002 Posted December 16, 2002 correct again... but add the pucker factor involved with having not enough matching quickdraws to clip all 12 bolts, and having to use different colored draws to clip the last two. Quote
