EddieE
'she' pitched a tent right there on the trail? Maybe Liepel doesn't know her friend real well yet.
Dru
I've tried pitching a few tents but find baseballs easier.
Alpine_Tom
"After the two had reached an overhanging horizontal band of granite about 150 feet from the summit, they unroped and started scrambling up the loose rock..." Sounds like this guy should be nominated for a Darwin award! Â
Pencil_Pusher
That totally sucks. My sympathies to the family and uncle.

Cpt.Caveman
I find humor in this part "My friend is a survivalist," Liepel said in an interview later. "She pitched a tent for me right there on the trail." Â
Kyle
I find it interesting how this peak attracts so many scramblers & inexperienced climbers; must be the easy access. Chair deserves a reputation as a dangerous mountain to be climbed only by those with experience & proper gear- hardly a year goes by that someone doesn't die or get hurt on it. Very sad...
